Hi %FIELD_1%,

Finishing the Race Well!

I find myself experiencing great emotion as I look back on these last months of running the race, and I cannot even begin to put into words the sense of thrill and excitement that my family and I feel as we join you in ministry to reach this city, this region, and the world for Christ. We are so blessed by Ted, Joe and Arlis, and their families to receive the baton and now to carry it forward as God uses us to lead Green Bay Community Church into the future. The foundation that has been laid and the preparation work that has been accomplished make my job such a joy. Thank you for all of your support, your prayers, and your well wishes; your grace is truly amazing.

It is a privilege to be part of a church that loves people wherever they find themselves on the journey, and it is exciting to think about all the ways that God will lead us to help people take the next step in the process of loving and serving Christ and others. It will take us awhile to learn your names, but we’ll get there in due time, and we’ll look forward to hearing your stories, celebrating the joys, and sharing in the struggles of the journey together. We love you, we thank God for you, and we are eager to embark on this great adventure with all of you! Let’s finish the race together – and finish well!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3

In Christ,
Doug Zerbst, Lead Pastor

Expressway February Theme
In February we will be talking about love and relationships. Our emphasis will be around making wise, God-honoring choices in relationships of all kinds. For middle school, sex will not be an outright emphasis, but it will come up within our topics. With high school, we will have one week (February 25) devoted to God’s plans for sex.

If you have any questions regarding content or structure, please contact Brian Martin, 593-3484.

Expressway Middle Parent/Teen Class in March

6:30-8:30 p.m.
Youth Center

We would like to invite PARENTS with their teens for four weeks in March for a special class. During this time there will be NO EXPRESSWAY MIDDLE as we know it. Instead, there will be a class designed for families to share together including a video curriculum. Please join us for any or all of these weeks!

Topics include: “The Myth of the Perfect Family,” “Living Up to Expectations,” “Authority and Rebellion,” and “Friend or Foe.”

We are asking that at least one parent attends with their middle school student. This will be a video and discussion format with some activities designed specifically for middle school students, so please make arrangements for other children.

If you have any questions regarding content or structure, please contact Brian Martin or 593-3484.

Group Life
One of the greatest longings of the human heart is to belong: to know others and be known by others; it's the way God intended us to live.

Group Life provides opportunities for individuals to experience a sense of belonging, to grow together on our spiritual journeys, and to serve others.

While each type of group (Interest, Care, Discovery, Life, and Serving) provides a different opportunity to connect, all are designed around our vision of attracting people to Christ and building community.

No matter where you choose to plug in, there is a place for you in Group Life.
