Welcome
My husband Patrick and I just returned from a two-week road trip across the US connecting with family and friends. One of the couples we stayed with was Terry and Lane Sistrunk from New Orleans. After Katrina, GBCC sent around 100 people to work with Terry using their time, talents, and money to be the hands and feet of Christ as they rebuilt homes in New Orleans, as well as Faith Bible Church in Covington, LA.
As Patrick and I sat in the Sunday service at Faith Bible Church last weekend, we witnessed first hand the fruits of your generosity. Pastor Alfred Young told us that during the past year, more than 300 people were baptized at that church. It has become a beacon of hope in that community, magnifying God’s love to everyone who attends.
It reminded me of what Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” It was made clear to me that we did just that when we helped the people of New Orleans and as a result, hundreds have been led to Christ.
It isn’t just the pastors or people with the gift of evangelizing that have great influence. Whether you swing a hammer, clean toilets, or paint walls – using your gifts to serve God by serving others can make a huge difference in someone’s eternal life.
Celebrating Him,
Pat Jelen |

Would You Consider eGift this Summer?
eGift enables individuals to give financially to GBCC through an electronic transfer of funds between a personal bank account and the church. eGift is a convenient way to manage your contributions when you’re out of town or unable to attend a weekend service during the summer months.
For GBCC, eGift represents a process to serve our church family more effectively, allows our accounting staff increased efficiency while processing contributions and reduces costs associated with processing checks. eGift also helps to provide an even contribution flow, especially during summer months when many are out of town on the weekends.
As with other electronic fund transfers, the appropriate confidentiality and security measures are in place. GBCC remains committed to protecting, with the utmost care, any information it holds. Our internal controls and computer security are always under inspection so as to remain safe and secure.
If you are interested in participating in or have questions about eGift, please contact Jill Armstrong, 593-3486. Click here for a registration form. Registration forms are also available in the brochure racks in the church lobbies. Thank you! |

Group Life
One of the greatest longings of the human heart is to belong: to know others and be known by others; it's the way God intended us to live.
Group Life provides opportunities for
individuals to experience a sense of belonging, to grow together on our spiritual journeys, and to serve others.
While each type of group (Interest, Care, Discovery, Life, and Serving) provides a different opportunity to connect, all are designed around our vision of attracting people to Christ and building community.
No matter where you choose to plug in, there is a place for you in Group Life.
Discovery Group Classes
