Hi %FIELD_1%,

Simple.

It means, readily understood or performed. Uncluttered.

Why do we make things so complicated?

Have you ventured into your garage, attic or basement lately? What happened! Stuff has filled those spaces and seems to keep multiplying, doesn’t it? The problem is not the stuff – it’s us. We overbuy, overeat, overwork, and eventually overlook the very thing we wanted in the first place.

Without even trying, we eventually end up creating more “things,” “processes,” and “programs” that overshadow the original purpose.

We do this in the church.

These last few months have been focused on removing the clutter we have accumulated at Community. Programs, positions, and stuff that we have allowed to overshadow the simple desire God has for us and we should also have for Him; a relationship with Him. We are to be in a connected relationship with the Father daily, hourly, and even each minute.

I am preparing for this week’s message on prayer and I have been convicted about the clutter in my own life that has overshadowed what He desires of me. It begins with the simple act of prayer.

Proverbs 15:8
The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

What pleases God is when we are talking with Him. Trusting Him. Asking Him. Seeking Him. Crying out to Him. Praising Him.

Prayer.

No clutter.

Simple.

Pray.

New Summer Service Schedule
As you know, as of this weekend, July 5, we are canceling the Saturday evening service and are adding a 6:30 Sunday evening service.  Sunday morning services are slated to run one hour fifteen minutes in length, and the Sunday evening service will run one and a half hours. Please make a note of the changes.

Printed invitations regarding service time changes and childcare details are available at the Welcome Center.

Guest Artists:
Sunday, July 5 - Urban Rescue
Sunday, July 19 - AJ Degrasse

Lead Pastor Congregational Vote
As you know, Troy Murphy has been nominated as Lead Pastor of Green Bay Community Church. Information about Troy will be available at the Welcome Center July 5 and on our website. A congregational vote will take place after each of the services on Sunday, July 12.

Church Bylaws
Along with the Lead Pastor vote, a second item on that same ballot will be asking the congregation to affirm a change in the church bylaws.  In summary we will ask to allow greater flexibility for the Elder Nomination Process.  Information regarding the bylaws change will be provided at the Welcome Center Sunday, July 5 and on the website to be followed by an affirmation vote Sunday, July 12.

Young Life Contributions
As many of you know, this weekend Troy asked the congregation to help raise funds to allow a few area youth to attend a Young Life camp.  We were able to raise $5,852.25 through an additional offering following each of the three services!  It is so encouraging to see the way the body of our church stepped forward to serve in our community.

These donations will be used to cover the expenses of the young men Troy mentioned specifically.  The remaining funds will go toward funding scholarships for future needs. Thank you for your donation.

Need Friendly People to Greet at Weekend Services
We are creating Greeter Teams for each of the weekend services. If you would enjoy opening doors and welcoming people as they come to the services and bid them a fond farewell as they leave – we could use your help! We are also looking for Facility Guides before the services. These are people who will offer assistance to anyone unfamiliar with the building and need help finding a classroom, restroom, childcare, etc… You may serve in either of these positions prior to the service you usually attend.

Group Life
One of the greatest longings of the human heart is to belong: to know others and be known by others; it's the way God intended us to live.

Group Life provides opportunities for individuals to experience a sense of belonging, to grow together on our spiritual journeys, and to serve others.

While each type of group (Interest, Care, Discovery, Life, and Serving) provides a different opportunity to connect, all are designed around our vision of attracting people to Christ and building community.

No matter where you choose to plug in, there is a place for you in Group Life.
