Hi %FIELD_1%,

Affirmation
It is with great joy that GBCC announces the affirmation of Troy Murphy as Green Bay Community Church Lead Pastor. The affirmation vote took place during all three services on July 12, 2009.

The congregation also affirmed the By-law change regarding multiple business meetings that would provide greater flexibility in nominating and affirming Elder designate(s) to the Council of Elders.

Thank you for voting.

Please congratulate Troy the next time you see him, and keep him, the staff, and the lay leaders of GBCC in your prayers.

Communication
New Bulletin Look
You will notice in upcoming weeks that the bulletin will be made smaller and be more succinct. Because of the smaller size, we suggest you subscribe to and read eCommunity to be updated on all the latest information. Please encourage family and friends to sign up if they haven’t already done so. A special note, both the paper and the labor to print the bulletin were donated for this project.

Greeter Ministry Being Formed!
Greeters needed at all Services
We are creating Greeter Teams for each of the weekend services. If you would enjoy opening doors and welcoming people as they come to the services and bidding them a fond farewell as they leave – we could use your help! We are also looking for Facility Guides before the services. These are people who will offer assistance to anyone unfamiliar with the building and needing help finding classrooms, restrooms, childcare, etc. You may serve in either of these positions prior to the service you usually attend.

Please contact Pat Jelen, or 593-3490, if you have questions or are interested.

Machine Shed Door Makeover
Sunday, August 9

Hey power tool lovers! Our machine-shed doors are badly in need of repair. The plan is to remove the old doors and save as much of the wood as possible for later use. New lumber will be put up on the existing track. Come, east a burger, build a door and hang out with power tools!

Contact: Patrick Jelen or 593-3492.

Student Ministries
What's Going on in August?

This year, Expressway will not be meeting in August. This is unusual for us, but is necessary for preparation for the upcoming school year. However, don’t miss the canoe trips for middle school students. Also, high school students can't miss the Great America trip. (This year, 4 churches are combining forces to enjoy one fun-filled day!) We will see you September 9 for our official kick-off.

Six Flags Trip
Wednesday, August 12
Any and all high school students are welcome to join us for a trip to Great America!  The cost is $55 for transportation and ticket into the park (meals are on your own).  We will be teaming up with a few other youth groups in the area, so it should be a great trip!! To sign up, fill out a registration form and turn it in with your money before August 3.

Incoming freshmen through seniors who have just graduated are invited to join us!  Please drop off and pick up students in the west parking lot (near the offices).

Summer Dudes Bible Study

Join us for our annual “Summer Dudes’ Bible Study.” Incoming freshmen through seniors who have just graduated are invited to join us (as long as they are dudes)!

Group Life
One of the greatest longings of the human heart is to belong: to know others and be known by others; it's the way God intended us to live.

Group Life provides opportunities for individuals to experience a sense of belonging, to grow together on our spiritual journeys, and to serve others.

While each type of group (Interest, Care, Discovery, Life, and Serving) provides a different opportunity to connect, all are designed around our vision of attracting people to Christ and building community.

No matter where you choose to plug in, there is a place for you in Group Life.

Discovery Group Classes
New classes and groups will be starting in September.
