Prayer Watch
It is my prayer that our church continually reaches out to God for guidance. Becoming a disciple of Christ grants us the privilege of fellowship with Him, our Creator. Abba. Father. Scripture says He knit each of us together in our mother's womb. Knowing the depth of His love for us, why wouldn't we trust every aspect of our lives to Him? We are His children. You are His child.
Join us as we engage our Father as a congregation in an hour of prayer. Our prayers are a vital part of what He is doing on planet earth. Call upon Him for direction and growth in our lives, our church, our city, our country and the world.

Thank you
A letter to Bruce Conger and Denver Johnson,
The staff of Community thank you both for your many years of personal sacrifice and service as members of the church’s elder board. We know you’ve volunteered countless hours providing spiritual oversight to Green Bay Community Church - and for that we are most grateful.
In 2 Corinthians 9: 12 – 13 it is said:
12This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
You have served our staff, our congregation, our community, and our Lord well. Our church has been blessed to be associated with your leadership. Our prayer is that you continue to live lives that magnify His love, glorify Him, and walk in harmony with His word.
Thank you, dear friends.
The Staff of Green Bay Community Church
Please thank both Bruce and Denver for their years of service should your paths cross and join us in welcoming Drew VanFosseen to the elder board as he completes the balance of Bruce Conger’s term. |

Fellowship for Christian Athletes Meal Sign Up
16 college age athletes on a missions trip from Chicago will be bunking in our church from August 2-August 8. They’re working in Green Bay doing rebuilding projects for elderly and disabled people in our community.
We are in need of some generous volunteers who’d be willing to cook and serve some meals. This is a great opportunity to say thank you to them for showing God’s love to our city. A family, small group or a neighborhood could sponsor a meal. These guys won’t be fussy, but I guarantee they will be hungry!
If you’d like to help out or have questions, please email Leta. |

What's Going on in August?
This year, Expressway will not be meeting in August. This is unusual for us, but is necessary for preparation for the upcoming school year. However, don’t miss the canoe trips for middle school students. Also, high school students can't miss the Great America trip. (This year, 4 churches are combining forces to enjoy one fun-filled day!) We will see you September 9 for our official kick-off.
Canoe Trips
Primitive camping, sleeping in tents. Incoming 6th graders through graduating seniors are welcome.
High School Girls, August 6-9, $45
Middle School Girls, August 28-30, $35 (very little canoeing)

Any and all high school students are welcome to join us for a trip to Great America! The cost is $55 for transportation and ticket into the park (meals are on your own). Incoming freshmen through seniors who have just graduated are invited to join us! Please drop off and pick up students in the west parking lot (near the offices).

Group Life
One of the greatest longings of the human heart is to belong: to know others and be known by others; it's the way God intended us to live.
Group Life provides opportunities for
individuals to experience a sense of belonging, to grow together on our spiritual journeys, and to serve others.
While each type of group (Interest, Care, Discovery, Life, and Serving) provides a different opportunity to connect, all are designed around our vision of attracting people to Christ and building community.
No matter where you choose to plug in, there is a place for you in Group Life.
